Merry Christmas!

Hello friends!  This Christmas was quite a refreshing change of pace from our last (which I spent in the hospital with what was thought to be an appendicitis!)  As I sit here enjoying a calm day of play with new blocks and de-kars (what Julien is calling his new guitar) I am hoping you all having having a beautiful day too!  We miss you all and hope to see you in the New Year.  Happy Holidays and wishes of overwhelming joy to you all in the New Year!

The Come Back is Coming!

We've been busy with our new addition! (No we aren't remodeling again)  Adrien is officially the last of the Bills family collaborative art projects, and was born right on schedule April 30th.  He has been keeping us very busy. That said, the new calendar is in the makings and we are excited about the new classes opening up for September. *spoiler alert* We are even adding a little something for our 12-24 month friends this time around! Stay tuned!

The count down is on...

I'm so sad to say that there are only two more weeks left of classes for ARTcadia Studio until we break for the summer :(  This first 10 week session has been so much fun I am really sad to see it end!  We will really miss our friends who are moving away (Eleni and Mrs. Maria) but hope to see the rest or our new friends back in September.
The count down for baby Adrien's birth is on too!  Only 4 more weeks to go until he is due to make his first appearance in the world.  Julien and I spent some time with my friend Patrick and his wife Ruth taking some maternity shots a couple weeks ago.  I highly recommend Man in the Moon Studios to anyone looking for a photographer.  Here's a couple fun ones from our shoot...

Leprechaun Hunters!

Can you believe today was the start of our 2nd 5 Weeks!  Time is flying by.  We celebrated our new students first day of class and St. Patrick's Day today to kick things off.  The 2's had a blast in Mighty Mess constructing Leprechaun Magnifiers and searching for the pesky leprechaun who's been running around my back yard.  Unfortunately they never found him, but they did a great job of finding all the gold he dropped!

 

P.s. How'd you like those decals on my car?  I'm now a rolling billboard.  Thanks to the fab ladies at SuperSigns for doing such a super job!

Day #3

So we rounded out our first week of classes with the Remarkable Reuse class and upcycled some pretty sweet Valentine Friendship Cuffs.  A.B. went home with one for Mom, little sis and herself!  The week was a true whirl wind filled with lots of red glitter and smiles.  Looking forward to a very exciting next 4 to 9 weeks!

Day #2

Just as fabulous as day 1!  Today was a big group and we had so much fun it felt like everyone was only here for a minute!  I saw some really great Valentines head out the door that I am sure will make their receivers very happy on Monday.  C.C. had some beautiful heart sparkles happening on her valentine, and C.S. and his sister L.S. had very detailed work that was super special, just to name a few!  I can't wait to see what else this group will create.

First Day of Class

We had a very laid back and fun first day of classes today!  Julien was excited to get to join in on the fun and we made some very creative new friends.  Wish I had gotten a picture of E.'s finished Valentine, it was so expressive, I loved it!  Looking forward to continuing the fun the rest of this week!

Yay for aprons!

Thanks to Psycho Jock for our first round of lovely aprons!  The only problem with them is I forgot to get one in an adult size for myself :(

Julien has already claimed this one and has started breaking it in while working at his easel this week.

Evening Art and Authors class added!

As requested we have added an evening class of Art and Authors.  If anyone is having issues with trying to make it out to the morning classes, this may be just what you were looking for!  We'll begin at 4:15 Wednesday February 9th.  Be sure to fill out a registration form and indicate you would like the evening class.

Eating my words...

The studio is coming along, but the paint is going a bit slower than expected. We have decided to shorten this run of courses to 10 weeks and start 2 weeks later. All will be for the best, no paint fumes for little lungs after the remodel and I'll have plenty of time to get the studio ready to go for our first classes. There are so many fun ideas I have been envisioning I am excited to have a bit more time to bring them to fruition!

So you can see why I'm happy to take a bit more time to get things together!  Can't wait to create in this new space once things have come together.

Studio Beautification!

New windows last week and the cupboards will see fresh paint tomorrow!  Cutting it close to the start of classes, but we will be ready to go with a beautiful new art space by the end of this week.  Stay tuned for pictures!
